Fire erupts at building near IIM Bangalore due to gas leakage

A fire broke on September 21 at a building located close to IIM Bangalore due to leakage in the gas pipeline, reports said.

No casualties were reported so far in the incident, but firefighting operations were underway by the time preliminary reports had emerged.

According to news agency ANI, the building where the blaze erupted is based in Devarachikkana Halli locality of Begur region.The fire, as per the report, erupted at 3:30 pm in the afternoon. At least three fire tenders were sent to douse off the flames, it added.

Visuals shared on social media showed flames engulfing multiple stories of the residential apartment.

A Times Now report identified the building where the fire broke out as Ashrith Aspire apartment. The news channel claimed that many were feared to be trapped while the firefighting and rescue operations were underway.
